Safety Notice

Effective Date: 24 February 2026 | Last Updated: 20 March 2026

1. VoxCor is not an emergency service

VoxCor is a voluntary coordination tool. It is not connected to emergency services such as police, ambulance, or fire departments.

VoxCor does not dispatch, verify, supervise, direct, endorse, or control anyone who chooses to respond to a request. Responses are voluntary. Outcomes are not guaranteed.

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services immediately.

2. Responders are independent individuals

People who respond to VoxCor requests are independent individuals acting voluntarily. They are not VoxCor staff, agents, or contractors.

VoxCor does not verify the identity, qualifications, or background of any user. Use your own judgement when deciding whether to proceed with any interaction.

In Event and Venue environments, operators may assign roles such as staff or volunteer. These roles are set by the organiser - not by VoxCor - and do not imply professional qualifications or verification by VoxCor.

3. Mutual confirmation before contact

When a request is matched, both the requester and the helper must confirm using a shared visual pattern - a halo - before approaching each other.

  • No stranger can claim to be your helper without displaying the correct halo
  • Neither party is committed until both confirm
  • Either side can withdraw at any point before or after matching

The halo confirmation is a real-time signal only. It does not verify a person's identity, credentials, or intentions beyond the match itself.

4. No direct messaging - by design

VoxCor has no chat, messaging, or inbox feature. There is no way to send private messages through the app.

This is intentional. Removing direct messaging eliminates a significant vector for harassment and unwanted contact. All communication between users happens in person, after mutual halo confirmation.

5. Safety companion requests

VoxCor includes a safety companion request type. Users can ask for someone nearby to walk with them - for example, to a car park late at night.

Mutual confirmation applies. You verify the halo before beginning the interaction. Either side can withdraw at any point.

This is a voluntary social safety measure. It is not a substitute for emergency response or professional security services.

6. Abuse prevention

VoxCor uses a reputation layer to detect misuse patterns - helpers who repeatedly fail to follow through, or requesters who submit false signals.

Moderation operates without exposing personal data. Users who misuse the platform may have their access restricted without notification, to prevent gaming of the system.

In Event and Venue environments, operator-assigned staff may have elevated visibility over request activity within that environment.

7. Your responsibility

By using VoxCor, you accept responsibility for your own safety during any interaction. VoxCor provides the coordination layer - what happens in person is between the individuals involved.

  • Do not submit false or misleading requests
  • Do not use VoxCor to harass or intimidate other users
  • Do not use VoxCor as an alternative to emergency services
  • Exercise your own judgement in all interactions

Requests are visible to nearby participants only, expire automatically, and are not stored in a publicly accessible form.

8. VoxRatio - a pause, not a service

VoxCor includes VoxRatio, a built-in reflection prompt that introduces a short pause before acting under pressure or emotion.

VoxRatio is a personal clarity tool. It is not therapy, crisis support, mental health advice, or an emergency resource. If you are in crisis, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency service.
